The Dual-Guard case is an ideal choice if you’re seeking solid protection on a budget and couldn't care less about the Pixelsnap charging or accessories.
Amazon is flooded with many, many budget-friendly case options for your smartphone; they all can’t be great. However, if you are seeking an affordable option for your Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, or Pixel Pro XL, we may have found one just for you—albeit with one caveat (we’ll get into that later). Today’s topic of discussion is the Crave Dual-Guard case, specifically for the Pixel 10 series.
The case is a late arrival to our favorite Pixel 10 cases, as we found out about it after it went live. We ended up loving it so much that we had to update it and add it as an option. I’ve been using it on my Pixel 10 Pro for the past few weeks, and we’re ready to tell you why you should consider this $17 case an option for your Pixel 10.
The Dual-Guard case lives up to its name with a slim, dual-layer design made of rubber-like plastic (TPU, or thermoplastic polyurethane) topped with a matte finish. About 95% of the cases feature a pebble-textured surface that improves your grip and helps prevent fingerprint smudges. The remaining 5% has a smooth, matte finish and is located at the bottom near the port and speakers and around the front display area.
The Crave case also offers raised edges for extra protection for accidental drops around the camera and display. It also produced responsive, clicky buttons thanks to its case button covers, which offer clear feedback without adding an excessive amount of pressure. Additionally, Crave executed the cutouts with precision, ensuring that your phone’s mics, speakers, and USB-C remain easily accessible without any awkward angles or partially blocked openings.
For Pixel 10 users who haven’t invested in Pixelsnap accessories yet, there’s no need to worry, as the Dual-Guard case doesn’t support Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. However, the case still provides the benefits of standard (non-magnetic) wireless charging. This means you can still drop your phone onto a wireless charging pad for a boost in battery without the need to remove the case. The company backs its case with a lifetime warranty, as with most casemakers. It’s worth noting that this warranty only covers case defects and not any damage done to your phone while inside the case.
The Crave Dual-Guard case is a great combination of coverage, protection, and affordability. Armed with dual layers of protection, a comfy grip, precise cutouts, and clicky buttons, the case delivers exactly what’s needed and does so while leaving plenty of room in your budget for other essentials. This case is one of the few reviews where there aren’t a ton of flaws present.
While it doesn’t offer Pixelsnap support, the company does support (non-magnetic) wireless charging. And at $17, one might be alarmed by the product and ask how good it can be at that price point. However, just because this case is cheap in price doesn’t necessarily mean it is poorly made.
