Sony A7 series is already a ground-breaking shooter as its the first full-frame mirrorless camera on the market. While it wasn’t w/o its flaws, it was still a remarkable shooter nonetheless. Well they made sure to make amends by updating it w/ the A7 Mark II.
Thus far only announced in Japan, the A7 II retains the same 24.3MP full-frame sensor but adds a 5-axis image stabilization, enhanced weather sealing, faster auto-focus, XAVC S video codec, 117 phase detection points, 25 contrast detection points, a new front dial, continuous shooting @5fps, and ISO 25,600.
Whenever this does make its way to the US, expect it to offer a $1,600 price point for the body only. Definitely looking forward to its arrival.
Update:
Sony just made US availability for the A7 II official. It will be here on December 9th for $1,699 for the body only + $1,999 w/ a 28-70mm f3.5-5.6 OSS kit lens. The arrival of the A7 II means a price cut for the older A7 models. The A7 will drop to $1,299 for just the body + $1,599 w/ kit lens while the A7R will cost you $2,099 for the body. The 4K capable A7S will remain at $2,499 though.
