According to the sources at N4BB, RIM is halting/suspending production of their 10inch BlackBerry PlayBook in favor of moving up the release of their first QNX smartphone. They received word that the QNX-OS BlackBerry smartphone could be equipped with a 4.3inch touchscreen w/ over 900 + screen resolution and possibly the same single-core 1.2GHz processor that will shipped within the Bold 9900/9930. If proved to be true, this a move RIM should have done to follow the release of the PlayBook coupled a stronger app eco-system. We’ll be waiting to hear more about it as we keep our fingers crossed. RIM could really use a hit right now.
