We have more details on what to expect from the very-interesting Project Ara. Earlier today, Google released their MDK or Modular Developer Kit which gives 3rd-party manufacturers guidelines how to contribute parts for them. Each devices will have skeleton or a base (made only by Google) to then add different components like for Wi-Fi, battery, displays, speakers, and such.
Nothing new or concrete in regards to specs or anything like that but more so the different sizes we can expect: Mini, Medium, & Large. The Large size won’t become available until much later after the other 2 sizes have launched. They are prepping for their 1st annual Ara developers conference too.
There will be an online store allowing you to put together your own device using the modules of your choice a la Moto Maker style. Google is looking at an official launch sometime early next year. I for one can’t wait.
