After the details leaked earlier this month, Google removes the curtain to their vision of a premium Chromebook.  Before this, all Chromebooks were priced moderately around the $250 price point and offered bare specs (it couldn’t handle heavy processing).  But today, Google looks to change the way we view their laptops with the Pixel.

Google began crafting the Chromebook Pixel about two years ago as they usually outsource for manufacturing their laptops.  Running the Chrome OS of course, packed with all of your favorite Google prodcuts/services like YouTube Google + Hangouts, Gmail and more.  Now for the internals.

“Yup, they are going to combat Apple’s Retina MacBook Pro with this one.”

Inside the Pixel, Google equipped it with a high-end, 12.85inch touchscreen display w/ 2560 x 1700 resolution + 239ppi.  Yup, they are going to combat Apple’s Retina MacBook Pro with this one.  It is powered by a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB SSD, 1TB of cloud storage via Google Drive, a battery that last over 5 hours, weighs in at 3.35lbs, trackpad, backlit keyboard, full range stereo speakers, 3 noise-canceling mics, a 720P HD webcam, SD card slot, mic/headphone jack and two USB 2.0 ports.

The Wi-Fi only version of the Pixel will be available next week for $1,299and the LTE version (w/ Verizon being the provider) will launch sometime in April for $1,449 with a 64GB SSD.  They can pre-ordered at the Google Play Store and can be purchased at your local Best Buy retailer.  We have a demo video for your viewing pleasures below.
