At Samsung’s IFA press event , they revealed the newest members of the Galaxy family starting w/ the Galaxy Note 3.  The 3rd-generation Note offer a 5.7inch Super AMOLED display w/ 1080p HD resolution, powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, running Android 4.3 w/ TouchWiz UX, 3GB of RAM, choice of 32GB or 64GB of storage expandable via microSD, a 2MP front-facing +  w/ 13MP rear-facing camera (more than likely the same as on the Galaxy S4) w/ backside illuminated sensor and capable of recording video in 30fps, 60fps, & 120fps slow-motion, NFC, and a 3200 mAh battery.  But that’s far from the whole story, more on it below.

Samsung left no stone unturned in regards to the upgrades on the Note 3.

New Multi-Windows now allows you to split two windows of the same app along w/ instant sharing between the 2 apps.  Pen Window allows you to quickly access apps in another windows by drawing a box to fit the new app.  For example, you can be in your email and draw a box of any size to open the calculator app as a pop-up window without leaving the app.  Multi Vision for Group Play allows you to add multiple displays to share one image/media through the new Group Play.  S Note now syncs w/ Evernote to save your notes to the cloud.

The new Air Command features offers a new way to access S-Pen features like Action Memo, Scrap Book (that supports video along w/ photos & web content), Screen Write, and S Finder (Samsung’s take on universal search).  My Magazine acts like a cross between Flipboard and BlinkFeed which places all your desired news content in one place.

The Note 3 will launch for all carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, & Verizon sometime in October.  No word on availability just yet.

Look out for a hands-on w/ the Note 3 later today.
