moto-z-playAlso, Motorola added a 3rd option to the Moto Z Family of smartphones w/ the Moto Z Play.  Moto is going for the 3-device approach to cover all bases and price points as of lately.  Let’s get into what the Z Play is all about.

Think of a Moto Z w/ mid-range specs and the battery of the Moto Z Force.

The Z Play offers a 5.5inch 1080p AMOLED display, powered by a Snapdragon 625 CPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage expandable up to 2TB via microSD card, running Android 6.0.1, an f/2.0 16MP camera on the rear w/ laser + phase detection auto-focus, an f/2.2 5MP shooter in the front, water-repellent coating, NFC, fingerprint reader, USB-C, a 3510 mAh battery, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.  Yeah, they brought back the audio jack on this one and the battery is slightly larger than the Moto Z Force too.

The Z Play comes to Verizon (as the Moto Z Play Droid) on September 8th for $17 per month or $408.  You will be able to grab a GSM-only, unlocked version from Motorola sometime in October for $450.  And speaking of unlocked, you will also be able to grab a GSM-only version of the Moto Z for $700 also in October.
