vinci-smart-headphones-1Just when you thought you’ve seen it all, there’s always something to prove you wrong.  On Saturday, we got a chance to get an early look at the Vinci smart headphones during their launch party in NYC.  At 1st glance, you notice a touchscreen panel on the side of the headphones.  But it offers a lot more than just a novelty.

The Vinci smart headphones can do a lot with or w/o your smartphone.

The touchscreen on the side allows you to setup your new smart cans and while playing you touch the screen to play/pause, swipe left/right to skip back/forward, and swipe up/down to adjust the volume up/down.  It even has its own visualizer while the music is playing.  They actually sounded pretty nice.  Now onto the more cooler things about it.  It has some AI involved along w/ a built-in virtual assistant where you can ask to play music from a specific artist, read back text messages, weather, directions, reminders, and more thanks to their dual-mic setup.

Next up we have fitness tracking abilities thanks to the many sensors inside like an accelerometer, gyrometer, proximity, optical heart rate, GPS, and compass.  This will allow you to monitor your running, steps taken, and heart rate.  All of this can be done w/o the use of a smartphone as it has its own on-board storage & connects on its own via 3G/Wi-Fi connection.

The officially launched yesterday on Kickstarter as this is easily the best way to pick one up.  The Vinci arrives in 2 models: the Vinci 1.5 & 1.5 Pro.  The Pro model offers all of the goodies like noise canceling abilities, wireless charging, more storage, and overall better sound quality.  They will cost you $200 & $300 but if you get them on Kickstarter, you can grab them for only $100 & $150.
