Windows 10 S is a more powerful platform for the education market.

This is a simpler version of Windows made specifically for low-end hardware aimed at the education crowd.  It will offer a faster login process that is about 15 seconds faster than on Windows 10 Pro.

Everything will essentially be cloud-based as everything running on Windows 10 S has been downloaded from the Windows Store.  So those of you looking for Chrome browser it won’t show up until Google submits it to the Windows Store – if they do at all.  You’ll also have the option to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro as well.

Windows 10 S laptops will start as low as $189 and come w/ a free subscription to Minecraft: Education Edition & Office 365 education w/ Microsoft Teams.   The OS will be out this summer to be ready for the upcoming fall school year.

Microsoft came ready to fight   They want their spot back.  Your move, Google.
