Right before Christmas, Apple got caught out on Front Street by proving what many iPhone users felt was true.  The intentional slowing down of older phones when newer iPhones get released.  Although we didn’t address it on the site, we did talk about it on the podcast.  See the clip of it below.

For a little background, the issue is within the power management side of things that started back around the iPhone 6 & 6s w/ iOS 10.2.1.  This has continued to even the current slate of iPhones on the market right now.  This was done to prevent shutdowns & other battery failures but in the meantime led to a growing class-action lawsuits against Apple.

Since Apple points the issue being solely the battery, they’re doing battery replacements for iPhones for only $29 as opposed to the normal price of $79.  This will apply to anyone w/ an iPhone 6 or later.  Also, an iOS update will roll out early next year to offer customers more insight into their phone’s battery health.

This is all set to apease their iPhone customer base as Apple is working to offer a better battery experience.  If you fit the criteria of getting your battery replaced, are you gonna do it?  Is this enough from Apple to satisfy you?
