First to give a little background on OLPC before getting into the juicy stuff, OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) is a non-profit organization created by Nicholas Negroponte and others from the MIT Media Lab to design, manufacture and distribute laptop computers that are inexpensive enough to provide every child in the world access to knowledge and modern forms of education. Definitely worth supporting. The have 3 different concept tablets that they hope to have all 3 released by 2012. The first tablet XO 1.5 is scheduled for a January 2010 for a target price of $200 along with the ability to run both Linux & Windows OS. The XO 1.5 has a VIA processor that provides double the speed and quadruple the memory (physical & Flash). The 2nd is the XO 1.75 is scheduled for early 2011 for a target price of $150 or less. The XO 1.75 has a 8.9 inch touch display with rubber bumpers and carrying a Marvell processor the offers double the speed along with 1/4 the power usage. And finally the XO 3.0 is scheduled for sometime in 2012 with a target pirce of below $100. The XO 3.0 has a 8.5 x 11 inch multitouch, backlit, unbreakable, flexible plastic touch screen that is thinner than an iPhone. Hit the link below for the official release and to keep up with OLPC.
