Anybody out there got any scratched CDs that alcohol just won’t save? Well Lifehacker has spotted a nice cheap solution using good ol’ Vaseline (or Petroleum Jelly) to do the trick. All you need is a soft cloth or disc cleaner, petroleum jelly, and some scratched CDs. Using the disc cleaner/cloth, apply the jelly to the CD. After applying it in a thorough manner, time to remove the excess grease. Take a cotton ball, swab it with some rubbing alcohol and start cleaning it off. The end result is for the Vaseline to fill in the scratches on the CD bringing life to that old CD. Hope that helps fix some CDs to add more tunes to your iTunes library.
