Google  has officially announced its Android 2.2 OS (Froyo) to the world at day 2 of its Google I/O Developers Conference.  Bringing a plethora of new goodies to the Android experience.  Just in time to do battle with the new iPhone 4.0 OS within a few weeks.  More & a video after the jump.

New Android 2.2 features include:
dedicated homescreen shortcuts, LED flash (on applicable devices) now works with camcorder, onscreen camera buttons/options, multiple keyboard languages, 10.1 Flash support, 2x-5x overall faster performance, option for automatic app updating, apps can be stored on SD cards, mobile hotspot & tethering (Nice!), iTunes library streaming option, better voice recognition, new Exchange policies, and cloud-to-device messaging.  The overview video is below.
