Engadget reported that the HTC Desire ,which is a Europe Android device, is slated to enjoy the fruits of what Froyo (Android 2.2) starting this weekend.  Android 2.2 will bring features like: 720p HD video recording, HTC App Share widget, the latest version of the Sense UI, an improved multi-language keyboard, and HTC Sync which allows users to sync their music via iTunes.  The 2.2 update will arrive via OTA and to unlocked Desires first and carrier-locked version are still undergoing testing and should be set to be released in coming weeks.
