After handling both Android devices, they both bring Android to a higher level of quality product to the consumers.   Both are in our opinion the best from both carriers: Verizon and T-Mobile.   Both devices came out yesterday and seem to be selling well, the Droid X better than the Vibrant already being sold out online.  We have put together key points on both phones to  help those in need of assistance of which phone to buy.

Similarities:

  • Both armed with a 1GHz processor
  • Both can record video at 720p HD quality
  • Both have large screens and crisp, clean screen resolution
  • Both have big batteries for a longer life
  • Both have DNLA support

Samsung Vibrant:
  • Has more standard internal memory at 16GB expandable to 32GB via MicroSD
  • Comes equipped with the Avatar movie and The Sims 3 pre-loaded via MicroSD
  • Has a Super AMOLED screen which kills 20% brighter & 80% of sunlight glare
  • Has an app that turns your Vibrant to a remote controller for Samsung TVs
  • Has a 5MP camera but has no physical flash

Motorola Droid X:
  • Has less internal memory at 8GB but expandable to 40GB via MicroSD
  • Has a 8MP camera with dual LED flash
  • Camera has a sweeping Panoramic feature (that stitches several shots into one panoramic shot), Multi-shot feature (takes six shots in a row), Face Detection option, Color Effects (black + white, sepia, negative, etc.) and different Shooting settings (sport, self-portrait, landscape, etc.)
  • Built with three mics for noise cancellation and in video mode used to pick up better audio
  • Has the 3G Mobile Hotspot without needing Android 2.2
So there’s your breakdown more or less of the two Android devices.  If you are loyal to your carrier, these are, again, the best they have to offer (debatable between the Droid Incredible & Droid X for Verizon).  The Droid X can definitely replace your digital camera (if you haven’t upgraded to a 10 or higher MP lens anyways) along with the option of the 3G Mobile Hotspot at your whim.  The Vibrant’s screen is remarkable that Avatar or whatever video you watch on it awesome.  Although it lacks a physical flash for its camera, it still takes good low-light pictures.   Both provide a phenomenal Android experience to its users.  In regards to which one to better: it is again a matter of preference.  If you don’t really use your phone’s camera, either one is good game if your current contract is up.  If you do, the Droid X may satisfy your needs.
