Yup, a Pro phone is potentially being added to the Galaxy S line for 2027. This would essentially be a smaller version of the Ultra without an S Pen. New renders from OnLeaks x Android Headlines show what to expect visually from both models. The addition of the Pro phone would support the report that Samsung is vying for a four-phone launch across its S- and Z-lines of phones and foldables for 2027.
Based on the renders, the company appears to have a new camera setup with larger sensors, better cooling, and, finally, magnets for native Qi2 support. The new look would give the phone a flatter appearance to prevent rocking when lying flat. Despite its new camera bar slightly resembling that of the iPhone 17 Pro’s setup, I think it looks amazing.
The rumored specs for the S27 Ultra are a 6.7-inch OLED panel, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme, 16 GB of RAM, and a 5,700 mAh silicon-carbon battery. The new cameras are supposedly a 200 MP sensor, a Sony 50 MP ultra-wide, and a 50 MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom. However, the new camera array would remove the 10 MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. The S27 Pro would mirror most of the S27 Ultra’s specs but with a smaller 6.6-inch screen, a lower-resolution 12MP 3x telephoto, and a smaller 5,200 mAh battery. The Pro is expected to ship with 12 GB of RAM, an upgrade option to 16 GB, and up to 1 TB of storage, with a 256 GB base option.
If you remember, last year, ahead of the S26 launch, we told you about the rumored Pro phone, which was originally set to replace the Plus line. That phone, obviously, never made it to market, as we got the S26, the S26 Plus, and the S26 Ultra as anticipated. However, new renders have surfaced that show the Pro model again, this time more closely aligned with Samsung’s redesigned Ultra phone. However, last year’s Pro phone never made it to fruition, so don’t get too excited yet.
