According to BusinessWeek, AT&T and T-Mobile may soon sign a ten-year contract with Transit Wireless. This new deal will offer their cell services via Transit Wireless’ network throughout New York’s 277 subway stations. Although the deal has not been signed by either parties just yet, the deal is said to be sealed as early as next week. It won’t be up and running right away, Transit Wireless has up to two years to install a test network. After the network becomes approved, they will have four years to finish building the network. So this is definitely good news for the customers of both carriers that ride the subway. It may take six years to get it up and running though.
