Looks like Samsung maybe linking up with NVIDIA to provide their dual-core Tegra 2 processors for future devices. According to Citigroup analyst Glen Yeung, “Samsung has placed a sizeable order with NVIDIA for Tegra 2 chips in the first half of 2011, geared for both tablets and smartphones.” Another analyst thinks that the Tegra 2 is headed for the Galaxy Tab 2 but my thought would go towards the next-gen Galaxy S device as well. Samsung was working on their own dual-core processor called the Orion but maybe that’s going inside the newer Galaxy S devices.
We thought 2010 was gonna be the year of the tablet but all the flops and shortcomings by tech companies, 2011 is the year for dual-core tablets and smartphones with NVIDIA leading the pack.
