Thanks to BGR, the cat’s out of the bag on why Verizon’s CDMA model ships with the mobile hotspot ability (called Personal Hotspot) for up to five devices. It is preloaded with Apple’s up-and-coming iOS 4.3 software which offers that feature. AT&T could block this feature on their iPhones though. Don’t want people to get their hopes up and AT&T wants to be a dick about it. Along with the Personal Hotspot, Apple is also offering a new FaceTime icon, video effects for video capture & FaceTime calls, more AirPlay support for third-party native apps/web apps, orientation lock for the iPad, and multi-touch gesture support for the iPad (up to five finger support). Just when you think Apple is done wowing you, they hit you with stuff like this. Kinda makes you anxious to see what the new iPhone will offer.
