On Friday night, Twitter suspended Twitdroyd and UberTwitter (now UberSocial) for violating Twitter policies. This sent many UberSocial/Twitdroyd users in a frenzy without any desired Twitter apps to use. According to Twitter, the two apps violated a privacy issue with private Direct Messages longer than 140 characters, trademark infringement, and changing the content of users’ Tweets in order to make money. Both apps have made adjustments and are currently awaiting approval from Twitter. In the meantime, users can check out alternative like: Blaq/ Blaq Lite, TweetGenius, Twitter for BlackBerry, Twitter for Android, Twitter for iPhone, TweetDeck for Android / iOS, and SocialScope. You can either wait for the issue to become resolved or check out one of these many alternatives in the meantime. You never know, you may just find a new favorite app.
