Verizon decided to finally announce the official release date for the first Android 3.0-powered tablet: the Motorola Xoom. Starting this Thursday, February 24, you can pick up yours at your local Verizon retailer or Best Buy store. We reported yesterday that Best Buy starting taking pre-orders on the Xoom at the full retail price of $799.99 (no word on what the contract pricing will be yet). VZW has a Xoom launch page up and below where the fine print is usually located, it says, “Adobe Flash expected Spring 2011”. Are they waiting for Adobe to release Flash 10.2 before offering it at all on the Android tablet? This little tidbit of info along with the price point may cause early sales to be lower than VZW anticipated. We’ll keep you guys posted as more info becomes available.
