Nokia will be reaping the benefits of them choosing to run WP7 on their devices. Nokia will be the first to offer the WP7 Mango on their first WP7 device. Nokia already has devices running the 7.1 update on its devices in the testing as they released a statement on it below:
“Today Microsoft has announced the key new ingredients of the latest ‘Mango’ release of the Windows Phone operating system. This is the software that will be used on the first Nokia with Windows Phone device, and so should be of keen interest to Nokia-watchers everywhere.”
Also, Microsoft confirmed at their press event today that its current hardware partners (HTC, LG, & Samsung) will offer Mango as well as 4G support. We should expect new devices from all three companies running the Mango update w/ faster 4G speeds. Not word on what 4G technologies (HSPA+, LTE, or WiMAX) will be supported but we can expect some more news on it between now and the fall.
