Apple also announced as scheduled, the new iOS5 features for all iDevices.  Boy, is there a bunch new treats that is coming along with this update.   First things first, Apple has finally redesigned their notification system within iOS.  Now users will have an Android-like swipe down menu in the new Notification Center.   Along with the option to hit the X to clear out certain notifications or Clear All.   Moving right along, next up is their new iMessaging service to keep everyone on iOS connected a la BBM.   The new iMessage will allow users to send messages, videos, contacts, photos with the ability to push messages that works over Wi-Fi or 3G.  Very awesome Apple.   New Twitter integration within the entire OS like Camera/Photos app and Safari.   Also on deck is the new Newsstand app that allows you download the latest newspapers & magazines directly to your iOS device.   New Reminders app for reminders that sync into your location and/or calendar.   Tabbed browsing is added to Safari.  New camera features like red-eye reduction, auto-focus, & editing like cropping/rotating photos.   New split keyboard (for thumb-typers) for iPad users on iOS 5.  No more cables to sync or activate your new iOS device, from here on out its all OTA, baby.  The way its supposed to be.   The new OS will be available for the iPhone 3GS &4, iPad 1 & 2, and iPod Touch 3rd & 4th generation.   The new iOS5 will arrive this fall for customers around the same time the new iPhone is slated to be released/announced.
