9to5Mac broke the news yesterday about Apple unveiling a cheaper, hybrid version of the iMac aimed at the education crowd.   These iMacs are armed with a mix the current model and last year’s model iMac specs like 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or 3.1GHz dual-core Intel Core i3 processors, AMD Radeon HD 6750 w/ 256MB, 2GB of RAM, 160GB HD or 250GB HD, SuperDrive, Lion OS X with your choice of a 20inch or 21.5inch display.   The education models will have no ThunderBolt ports with pricing starting at low as $899.   The education models are currently not available for all schools/institutions but you can hit the link below to see if you school is on Apple’s list.
