BGR got quite a tip this morning on the arrival of RIM’s ace-in-the-hole everyone is waiting for, BlackBerry’s first QNX smartphone.   According to their sources, consumers should expect the first QNX-OS phone (codenamed the Colt) sometime during the first quarter of 2012.   The Colt is rumored to be armed with a single-core processor over the the multicore chipset we were expecting but this can change as the PlayBook was tested with a single-core chipset.   RIM is having trouble implementing BES with the Colt as PlayBook owners is still waiting on native email support but Microsoft Exchange is slated to be running out-of-the-box.    We’ll keep you guys posted as more details arise.
