Yesterday Google announced more hardware partners joining them in their Google TV crusade. With more details arriving next week during CES, we can expect LG, Samsung, Sony, & Vizio to make GTVs and MediaTek & Marvell to make chipsets to power them. After recently getting the Honeycomb update which added more functionality and giving consumers over 150 apps to use on their TVs, Google is ready to step up their Internet TV game. And speaking of LG…
…they have already unveiled one of their new GTVs due out sometime this year. Using their own L9 chipset, LG first offering is the sum of the Android OS and LG’s Smart & 3D TVs to cover a wide variety of consumer’s needs wants. They made sure to incorporate their own CINEMA 3D technology used in the LG Thrill which requires the less expensive, battery-free 3D glasses as it can turn 2D content into 3D content. LG’s Smart TV w/ Google TV will ship equipped with a QWERTY Magic Remote as well. Expect the company to demo it off at CES among many other things that will be unveiled.
