Sprint is looking forward into the future (like every other company seeking to turn a huge profit) with consolidating its technologies and network into a one big LTE network.   Starting today, Sprint subscribers may enjoy improved signal strength as their network will become able to penetrate more for overall improved reception for voice calls & data strengths.   The Home of the Unlimited Everything hopes to have their entire network converted by the end of 2013 with an ‘aggressive’ expansion to be the next LTE wireless phone provider.

Sprint expects to have their first wave of LTE smartphones, tablets, and portable modems by the middle of this year.   And thanks to the ads on Cnet, the carrier’s first LTE smartphones has been leaked as the Galaxy Nexus.   The specs will mirror that of which is on Verizon but will have a 1.5GHz dual-core processor rather than the 1.2GHz chipset.   A part of me is hoping that it is the Qualcomm Snapdragon S-series chipset which will provide for a seamless Android experience but I know it won’t play nice with the battery life but by then, maybe LTE chips won’t be as harsh.   I guess VZW’s exclusivity was only limited to around 6 to 8 months (depending on when this launches).   I many subscribers will be looking forward to unlimited data on the latest Nexus w/ Ice Cream Sandwich.
