Hanging out at the HTC/Sprint in NYC gave us access to demo many features on the new EVO 4G LTE coming to stores soon. They got good food and good music to supply a great ambiance for us bloggers/journalists to write efficiently. We spent a little quality time with it and decided to share our first impressions with it.
- At first glance, you can see the new EVO has definitely been modernized with new-and-improved features /specs to attract even more consumers to it.
- It has an unibody design with a nice lightweight feel to it although it is armed with a 4.7inch display.
- The new 720p HD Super LCD display looks fantastic by the way as it show bright colors and crisp images.
- Navigation was quite smooth and offering a lag-free experience during my brief time with it thanks to the new dual-core S4 processor.
- Beats Audio provides to usual great clarity and bass boost to music pumped out of the new EVO. Those familiar with the original EVO will appreciate the kickstand as it is now smaller & placed on the middle on the device rather than the bottom of it.
- The HD voice sounded great as it enhances the voice quality while completely blocking out all background noise but not sure if this will be a selling point for most consumers.
The highlight thus far has easily been the new camera & ImageSense software inside. To open up the camera app and begin taking photos is fast. It is even faster to take a photo, process it, and ready for the next one. The new f/2.0 8MP lens takes great photos on the fly especially in low-light situations with great results. Also, you can record video while taking pictures flawlessly without a hiccup. An overall improved experience with the new Sense 4.0 UI w/ Android 4.0. Looking forward to getting more in-depth with a review unit hoping to arrive in the near future.
