Calling all Fathers!!! Would you like to see more green for your electronics?  Well we here at TechGuys are wanting to help us all see more green.  We deserve it and so does all of those around us. More info after the  break to start getting more green in your life.

We can all use a break and with Father’s Day quickly approaching I am sure we have a huge list of electronics to get your favorite father, dad, brother, uncle, you get the point.  So while you are out buying that new gadget whether it be a phone, drill, or some other electronic device consider this; recycle your old devices.  Let’s make a bigger effort in going green all year round starting with dad.  This Father’s Day, help him detach from his old electronics that no longer work.  You now the one in the junk drawer that “he will fix when he gets the time.”

Recent studies have shown that we suffer from “Green Guilt”, where it is nothing like the Hulk’s “Green Guilt” it is a lot easier to control.  We need to make a conscious effort to reduce waste, even E-Waste (electronic waste).  This includes rechargeable batteries that no longer charge, old cell phones that held a better battery life but nothing else, and all the other electronics such as power tools, cordless house phones, and old point and shoot cameras that have been replaced with more up to date devices.

There is an initiative put into place to help combat the e-waste.  Call2Recycle is looking to recharge our Earth and reduce the e-waste.  This company is comprised of a few different key players from electronic companies such as Sony, Panasonic, and Black and Decker to help reduce, reuse, recycle and extend the life of our planet.  Call2Recycle is a program that works directly with Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) and seems to have been around since the early 1990s, if not longer.  Drop off locations are readily available to be used at convenient locations in your area.  They have actually been here and are actually closer than you think.  They currently have drop boxes at most electronic stores, home improvement stores as well office supply stores (Lowe’s, Home Depot, Staples, MicroCenter, RadioShack, Best Buy etc.).  With Father’s Day coming and no short of batteries to be purchased and replaced you will start to see, if you haven’t already, dropbox locations for your electronics that you wish to recycle.

We reported about similar drop boxes at Verizon for their HopeLine Program.  Please help us to the help the world. Do your part, Call2Recycle also allows for personal collection.  Get your form here.
