Yesterday, Nintendo took to the stage at E3 to add more details on their newest console and more titles coming to their mobile ones. Being the only one of the three major gaming companies to offer a new console this year, it would seem Nintendo is already at an advantage. The House of Mario appears to be bringing their A game with the Wii U, here is what’s coming:
Nintendo Land is said to be a virtual theme park for your Mii but in reality its actually a collection of mini-games based off of Nintendo popular classic titles like Legend Of Zelda, Donkey Kong, and ninja game. This allows you to use your own Mii to play in these classic settings for some retro fun.
Wii Fit U acts as an expansion to the already popular Wii Fit by adding the new features that incorporate the GamePad and works with the same Balance Board making it one less accessory to purchase. You can also transfer your data from the original Wii into the newer console to keep your records up to date without having to start from scratch.
Nintendo wanted to make sure the Wii U could compete with its competitors and they took steps to ensure that it would. The Wii U will offer Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, Netflix, and YouTube content. These apps would support the GamePad’s 6.2inch display as well.
And lastly the games. Future Wii U owners should expect to see the New Super Mario Bros U, Pikmin, Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition, Mass Effect 3, Darksiders 2, Scribblenauts Unlimited, a new Tekken, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth, Fitness Evolved 2013, Assassin’s Creed, and Just Dance 4 just to name a few. Not sure which ones will become available at the time of launch but we will keep you posted.
