In case you didn’t hear the news. Due to more recent patent issues between Apple and Google, the GSM Galaxy Nexus was pulled form the Google Play Store on Tuesday thanks to an injunction. Based on the Joanna Stern of ABC News findings:
The injunction is primarily over the “Quick Search Box” found on the Galaxy Nexus, a feature that allows users to search the phone’s memory and the web at once. Apple said it already holds a patent for a “universal interface for retrieval of information in a computer system.”
Google did confirm to Joanna that consumers can expect the Galaxy Nexus to return to the Google Play Store next week armed with Android 4.1 for shipping. So thanks to Apple’ legal team, Google sped up the process to pick up a new Nexus pre-loaded with Jelly Bean. If you were about to order one, be on the lookout next week for some Android 4.1 action.
