LG announced earlier today to bring their newest Android ‘superphone’ to both AT&T and Sprint. LG looks to be the first Android manufacturer to use Qualcomm’s 1.5Ghz quad-core S4 Pro processor. Along with that LG equipped the Optimus G with a 4.7inch IPS HD display w/ 1280 x 720 resolution, running Android 4.0 ICS w/ LG’s custom UI, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 2100 mAh battery. AT&T’s version will have an 8MP camera while Sprint’s will get a 13MP shooter.
The Optimus G will make use of both carrier’s 4G LTE networks as pricing and availability have yet to be revealed. Rumors have it that the next Nexus device will be modeled after this device. The expected launch window is said to be sometime in November so the wait won’t be too long.
