If you are like me and thought the Galaxy Nexus was easily the worst of the short history of the Nexus devices. Verizon didn’t help by seriously delaying the launch and adding some bloatware to it either. The software is the only thing that made it worthwhile. Now that Apple has unveiled its new flagship smartphone, its now Google turn up to bat.
According to the sources at AndroidAndMe, Google looks to unveil the newest Nexus smartphone and new Android software sometime within the next 30 days. The actual word around town is that LG maybe the chosen manufacturer to create the upcoming Nexus as it will be modeled after the Optimus G. For those of you unfamiliar with ti, the Optimus G is quite the Android beast as it uses a 1.5GHz quad-core S4 Pro processor, sporting a 4.7inch HD IPS display w/ 1280 x 720 resolution + 15:9 aspect ratio, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP rear-camera, and a 2100 mAh battery. No word on if the previous news of multiple manufacturers lined up for the new Nexus is still on table or not. This shouldn’t upset people as LG makes good hardware but always lacked in the software department. This looks to solve that problem.
You can’t have a new Nexus without a new version of Android, right?
Just don’t expect Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie though. Look for Android 4.2 which will bring new features to an already well-made Jelly Bean like multi-user logins, an even better version of Maps, a new dialer, and better camera features. Just in case you thought Android had nothing else to offer for the year.
