We are here live at the HTC event for the unveiling of the DROID DNA.  The 5inch device offering the 1st display using 1080p HD display as opposed to the current standard of 720p.   We hung out with our colleagues, ate, drank, and got up-close and personal with HTC’s newest.  Check out our initial impressions of the device below.

  • The 5inch display is easily the best screen on any smartphone out right now, iPhone 5 included.  It is 5inch screen but isn’t massive as like the Note II, just the right dimensions.
  • Powered by the quad-core S4 Pro processor, every task/process are fluid and seamless like a smartphone is supposed to behave.
  • The device is lightweight and super slim.
  • Beats Audio combined with the two built-in amplifiers offers even more clarity with music, sound, notifications and any noise omitted from the device.
  • Some may be pissed off of the lack of a microSD slot on a device carrying 16GB of storage.  Something to keep in mind.
  • The 8MP camera is super-fast in taking and processing photos.  Low-light performance is even better. HTC included the wide-angle front-facing camera last seen on the 8X, showing more within an image or video.

Good to see HTC always innovating technology and moving forward.  We left with a review unit so expect a full review in the very, near future.

HTC made sure to keep the DNA as a thin and sexy design on a device.
