With all of the Android heavy hitters already released their flagship devices and summer is ont he way, that means its Apple’s time to shine with their upcoming WWDC in June. There are plenty of rumblings about what could arrive like: the unveiling of a new iOS, a new Mac OS teaser, etc. According to a note Apple Insider received from analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, we may just see a refresh to Apple’s entire MacBook line.
As Kuo’s note suggests, don’t expect Apple to phase out their non-Retina Macs…just yet. They may also keep the optical drives inside of the standard MacBooks. For those of you hoping to see a Retina MacBook Air, it’s not happening this year. However you can expect to see the entire MB line to now be armed with Intel’s newer & faster processors to give it a significant performance/battery boosts. The updates shouldn’t affect the current price points.
There is also talk of a cheaper iPad mini to go head-to-head with the budget Android tablets. Apple would remove the rear camera and drop the storage size down to 8GB like the previous base model of the Nexus 7. These changes would bring the retail price down to the $199 – $249 price range. Expect the price drop to occur around the launch of the mini 2.
Apple’s WWDC takes place in San Francisco from June 10th-14th. What are hoping Apple will announce in June other than this?
