On the hardware side of things, BlackBerry also announced a new entry-level BlackBerry 10 device codenamed R10 but will be officially known as the Q5. We discussed some of the features on it earlier this month as we now have more confirmation. Armed with a Curve-like QWERTY keyboard, a 3.1inch LCD display w/ 720 x 720 resolution, powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of storage, and a 5MP rear-facing camera.
The Q5 was built to be the baby brother of the Q10, is specs and hopefully in pricing. The Q5 is scheduled to launch in select, emerging markets globally like Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America sometime in July. No word on pricing as of yet or if & when this will make its way to the US.
