Last time we talked about Google’s plans to merge all of their chat services (Google Talk, Google+ Messenger, & possibly Google Voice) into one, it was dubbed Babble or Babel.   Tipsters at TechRadar seem to match up with what a reliable source in The Verge forums suggested about one week ago.  Google’s new unified messaging service is now to be called Hangouts at launch.
Below is a photo of what it could possibly look like on a smartphone while the above image appears to be on a desktop.

It all goes as we anticipate, you will be able chat, share images, start a Hangout, and possibly even send Google Map directions all in one service.   This will help Google clean up all of their different messaging services.  Hopefully, Hangouts will make its way to iOS.  That’s a platform that seriously needs it.
