This afternoon, Google held its breakfast press event to talk about Android and Chrome OS.  We know, we know. We are waiting for the big leap forward in features to come to an Android update. Many are seriously feigning for Key Lime Pie but today we get another piece of Jelly Bean.   But don’t take this as all bad news.  Every Android update offers some benefits to users whether it be big or small.  Let’s get into them.

Here’s what’s new on Android 4.3:
  • a new set of multi-user settings w/ parental controls
  • new dialer options
  • redesigned camera app
  • always-on Wi-Fi-based location services
  • Bluetooth 4.0 including Low Energy & Smart device support
  • faster responsiveness when changing orientation
  • improved battery performance
  • support for 1080p streaming on Netflix (Nice!)
The 4.3 update will be available for the Nexus 4, 7, & 10 later today and Google Play Edition devices soon.  Everyone else will have to wait for carrier approval.

The big Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is rumored to launch later this year alongside the new nexus smartphone.  So this will have to do until then.
