All roads have led to this.  Motorola finally unveils the X Phone after months of leaks and speculation.   This marks the first true device to be released after being acquired by Google (sorry, Verizon’s Droids don’t count).  Everything seems to line up with everything that was fore mentioned about the device, down to the specs.

The Moto X is uses a 4.7inch AMOLED 720p HD display, powered by Motorola’s custom 8-core X8 Mobile Computing System (a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, quad-core GPU, a CPU for language & one for contextual processing), 2GB of RAM, running Android 4.2.2, choice of 16GB or 32GB of storage coupled w/ 50GB of Google Drive for 2 years, dual cameras (2MP in front + 10MP Clear Pixel in the back) both capable of 1080p HD video, and a 2200 mAh battery.

Expect the same gesture-based features as seen on the new 2013 Droids to be here as well like always listening, touch-free Google Now access and quick two flips of the wrist to open your camera using Quick Capture.  Consumers will use the MotoMaker customization tool to design their device to how they want it.  That means your choice of backplate color (16 colors to choose from), wallpaper, & option for custom engraving as well.

Moto X from the carriers will come with some unwanted extra software.
The Moto X will be available on all four of the major carriers (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, & Verizon) for $199 on contract ($249.99 for the 32GB) as there will be a bloat-free version for sale on the Google Play Store as well.   However, AT&T gets the exclusive on color options when ordering online.  Other than that, in stores everyone will have just the black & White color options.

We will have to wait for each individual carrier to announce availability but it seems like it will be around the end of the month or early September.
