Kind of out of nowhere, Apple quietly refreshed their iMac line this morning.  Don’t expect any visual changes as their all-in-one desktops were just redesigned in November of last year adding a new thinner display, flash storage, and done away w/ the CD/DVD drive.  This update is strictly internal but still for the better.

The 2013 iMacs now adds latest Intel Haswell processors, faster graphics, next gen Wi-Fi and faster flash storage.  The base model 21.5inch comes equipped w/ a 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Haswell Core i5 CPU and goes up to 3.4GHz as the higher-end iMacs are equipped w/ NVIDIA GeForce GPUs.  The 27inch comes equipped w/ a 3.2GHz quad-core Core i5 CPU and goes up to 3.6GHz as it has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 755M GPU.

They now all have Wi-Fi ac support that is 3x faster along w/ shipping w/ 8GB of RAM + 1TB of storage. They can go up to 32GB of RAM + 3TB of storage depending yon your configuration.  The ports were beefed up too as you now get 2 Thunderbolt  & 4 USB 3.0 ports for faster transfer speeds.  And for those looking to get one w/ a Fusion Drive – you now get SSD flash storage that’s 50% faster than last year’s model.

The 21.5inch model starts at $1,299 and goes all the up to $1,499.  The 27inch model starts at $1,799 and goes up to $1,999.  Both models are available starting today online and at your local Apple Store.
