Yesterday when Sundar Pichai announced the new name and version of Android w/ 4.4. KitKat.  Later on, Google shared a video where they showed the newest Android member getting added to the lawn amongst its predecessors.  There were a few Google employees in the video using an unseen device to take pictures of it.

The new Nexus looks like a smaller 2013 Nexus 7 from the rear.

About 38 seconds into the video you can get a clear look at one particular employee’s device to see a huge Nexus logo like the 2nd-gen Nexus 7 along w/ an LG logo, and a massive camera sensor.

Coincidentally, the Nexus 4 just has a price cut that led to the 8GB model being sold out and not to be replenished.  Obviously, they are making way for the 2013 models.

See the video below, enjoy it before it gets pulled.

Update:

Based on a recent FCC filing, more specs on the upcoming Nexus smartphone comes to light ahead of its official unveiling.  Thus far we are looking at a 4.96inch display, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU (speed unknown), LTE compatible unlike the previous model: the Nexus 4, faster Wi-Fi ac support, NFC, Qi wireless charging, and Bluetooth 4.0.  The Nexus 5 will measure in at 131.9mm tall and 68.2mm wide that’s two whole millimeters shorter than the Nexus 4 and half a millimeter slimmer.

Definitely look forward to seeing the final product from LG and Google later this year.
