Earlier today Dell Venue event in NYC, the company announced its full-fledged return to the tablet market w/ the 4 tablets. That’s right! Dell didn’t place all of their eggs in one flagship tablet but spread it out to cater to the masses. You got two Venue tablets running Android and the other two running Windows. More on the new Venue family below.
There aren’t too many differences between these two other than screen size. Both slates offer a 1280 x 800 IPS display, powered by a 2GHz dual-core Intel Z2580 Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, running Android 4.2.2 w/ a custom skin by Dell (that’s upgradeable to v4.3 & 4.4), and a 10-hour battery life. Both tablets will ship on October 18th as the 7inch will cost you $149.99 w/ only 16GB of storage and the 8inch will cost you $179.99 w/ a choice 16GB or 32GB of storage.
Now on to the Windows side of things. The Venue 8 Pro is packing a bit more to be a more competitive tablet. Sporting an 8inch IPS display w/ 1280 x 800 resolution that supports a stylus, powered by a quad-core Intel Atom CPU, 2GB of RAM, choice of 32 or 64GB SSD, running Windows 8.1, micro USB port + micro SD card reader, and weighing in at 0.87lbs.
The Venue 8 Pro launches on October 18th and pricing starts at $299.99.
Similar to the 8 Pro while offering much more. Offering a 10.8inch 1080p IPS display also w/ stylus support, powered by a quad-core Intel Atom CPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, running Windows 8.1, has a USB 3.0 port, quotes an 11-hour battery life, and weighs in at 1.57lbs.
As you can see from the image above, you can get it w/ a detachable keyboard that doubles as a stand but you have a choice of two keyboard and a dock to add to the mix. You have the option to beef up your slate up to an Intel Core -5 Haswell CPU, up to 8GB of RAM, & 256GB SSD.
The Venue 11 Pro is due out sometime in November and pricing will start at $499.99.
