As the release date of Batman: Arkham Origins gets closer, we decided to share our hands-on with the game when we played it at the 2013 GameStop Expo. Although made by different developers than the original two, Arkham Origins still retains the feel, look, & gameplay of Arkham Origins & City. If you haven’t been keeping up, this Batman’s 2nd year as the Caped Crusader and just meeting some of his famed villains for the 1st time along w/ James Gordon as well.
- Arkham Origins still uses the Unreal Engine 3 to power graphics on the game and continues to work just as well or better.
- The gameplay mirrors that of the previous Arkham games as it adds new weapons at your disposal like: Remote Claw (that acts as a second claw to knock out two enemies or knock them out pulling objects to them) or the Shock Gloves (which we didn’t test on the demo). The other Bat-gadgets form the previous games are still are your disposal.
Everything you loved about the Arkham series is here but with more gadgets & city to scour.
Although the demo was short, it still gave me a great feel of what to expect from the full game. Here’s footage of our gameplay below.
Arkham Origins will become available worldwide on October 25th for the PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360.
