After a few leaked photos of Samsung’s first curved screen phone hit the net Samsung has made the Galaxy Round official in Korea on Tuesday evening. No we are not kidding, this is real. This appears to be the upcoming trend after smart watches.
The Samsung Galaxy Round sports a 5.7 inch curved display, which is the world’s first commercialized full HD Super AMOLED display. Aside from the curve, the Galaxy Round is almost identical to the newly released Galaxy Note 3 right down to the same “faux” leather back cover and the USB 3.0 plug on the bottom.
The guys at Samsung Tomorrow got to play around with the device and have provided some pictures as well as a video of the device. The Galaxy Round looks to be the future for Samsung and its possible that we could start to see curved displays worldwide as soon as the Galaxy S5 or Note 4.
But Samsung isn’t the only company to get involved in this different. LG is rumored to be in the works for an upcoming smartphone w/ a curved display/design. Above is a photo of a curved HDTV that is super-thin and slim. The same technology and build is said to be used on whatever their curved Android smartphone will be.
Be on the lookout when they become announced. Who’s buying one?
