Design
On the outside it definitely resembles that of other cases in the market. There is a plastic hard shell and a soft interior. You have access to all of your ports and the Mute switch can be toggled if you have fingernails. So it’s able to protect your iPhone all-around without adding any unwanted bulk to it. On the inside is where they stand out.
Durability
After testing it with some drops, my iPhone 5 remained unharmed. Covering their inner lining is their D3O technology which is a military grade material that expands the energy absorbed upon impact. In other words, it lessens the blow of whenever it falls and hits something. Similar to Speck’s Candy Shell series, the Impact Trio acts as a worthy & less expensive alternative.

TG 2 Cents
This offers great overall coverage. You got a hump around the screen to better protect it from certain drops but providing enough room to still add a screen protector. The outside is a solid body that can take a hit while other companies have trouble standing the test of time. And having owned a Tech21 case previously, I can attest for their durability. I got one earlier this year and other than a little bit of denim dye from being in my pocket, its still in great shape as it has not begin to expand after several months. We here at TGSB love handling quality products to review and the latest form Tech21 is no exception.
To Buy Or Not To Buy
At $34.95, there aren’t many phone cases with an attractive price point. The new Impact Trio comes in three colors: White plastic w/ Blue rubber, Purple plastic w/ Blue rubber, & Black plastic w/ Grey rubber. Definitely a buy as you should grab one.
