Back in September, we shared a report of Microsoft bringing a virtual assistant to its Lumia Windows Phone. This morning there’s a new report out there sharing more details on the matter. We already know that it will be called Cortana based from the Halo games but now we know they will employ the same voice actress Jen Taylor to power the assistant on you Windows Phone device as well.
Cortana is expected to grant users access to weather information, notifications, events, location information, and access to Bluetooth + Wi-Fi controls by voice control. According to MSFTNerd, Microsoft will begin rolling out the update w/ Cortana in beta form sometime in April for Lumia devices. Then it will make its way to the Bing app for iOS, Xbox One + Windows next year and then an international launch will follow.
So are you Windows Phone users getting excited or do you need to see more?
