Even though T-Mobile has yet go official with the Un-Carrier 4.0 launch yet, AT&T is already looking to counter act their rumored move by offering a similar deal of their own. Starting today, unhappy T-Mo subscribers can leave and go to AT&T and receive up to a $450 credit to switch + trade in your old device(s). The credit is broken down like this.
Keep in mind, this offer is only created for those who are using T-Mo’s off-contract Simple Choice plans.
You get $200 just for bringing your line over and then you get up to $250 for your current device as a trade-in (you could get more on eBay or Craigslist). Here’s where it goes downhill, you will still have to buy a new phone a full retail price (ex: 32GB iPhone 5s is $729, Galaxy Note 3 is $725), activate an AT&T compatible device, or jump into their early upgrade plan Next which you probably shouldn’t do.
I’m sure T-Mo is watching this and laughing as they’re will probably be actually better for the consumer but we will find out next week for sure.
