Every year before Apple’s big unveiling of the new smartphone, we get tons of rumors, speculation, hearsay, etc. based on sources close or familiar with the matter. Although its only January, this year is no different. Earlier this morning, sources over at the Wall Street Journal speculate that we may finally get bigger iPhones this year. That’s right – plural again.
R.I.P. iPhone 5c – maybe.
They are stating that we will see two iPhones again but this time both premium devices in two different sizes: one 4.5inch display or larger and one 5inch display or larger. As I just stated w/ both devices being premium, they will be made of metal so don’t look for a plastic 2nd generation iPhone 5c if this holds true.
But the main point is that Apple is ready to react to the 4.7inch or bigger size requirement implemented by Android manufacturers. As well as open up and create an actual iPhone family of devices rather than taking the Highlander route. Time will tell as this isn’t the 1st year rumors plagued the Apple universe of bigger iPhone displays but this might be the year where it comes into fruition.
