For all those Mac user looking for a standalone app for your Google Play Music account it is finally the here. Google Music for Mac is a beautiful web based app that allows Mac users to access all their music without having to tie up a browser window for it.
The application, once signed in, pulls down all your music, radio stations and playlists. Before if you wanted to access your Google Play Music account you had to use a web browser. With Google Music for Mac you use your media keys at the top of your keyboard to control your music. It’s also an open source project on GitHub separate from Google, so anyone feeling frisky can pull it down and tweak it to their liking. The only thing this app is missing is a way to add music directly to it.
