Earlier this morning at the Geneva International Motor Show, Apple revealed more details on their plans to bring iPhone usage to your cars. This new built-in infotainment center for your car will allow users to make calls, use Maps, listen to music, or access your messages via touch or by Siri. Previously called iOS In The Car when iOS 7 was announced, Apple’s decided to improve on their branding by calling CarPlay.
With CarPlay, Siri comes to your car.
CarPlay already has the support of the motor industry as they already have Ferrarri, Honda, Jaguar, Mercedes, and Volvo on-board. Future partners will be form the likes of Chevy, Ford, Kia, land Rover, Nissan, & Toyota to name a few. You can see the entire listing below of supported auto manufacturers below.
CarPlay will support devices via iOS 7 update as it will support the native music player + iTunes Radio along w/ 3rd-party apps like Beats Radio, Spotify, Stitcher, & iHeartRadio.
